Nestled in the heart of “Big Sky Country,” the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta is chalk full of life and western charm. Nicknamed “Cowtown,” this city is the home of the Calgary Stampede, a rodeo festival that takes place each year in July, and is just a short drive from the Canadian Rockies. I was lucky enough to spend the first day of my trip exploring the many streets and sights that Calgary has to offer.
We stopped by the Bow, a crescent shaped skyscraper in the business district to see the enormous 12-meter tall art installation known as “Wonderland” before heading over to the Calgary Tower to check out the views from above. One of my favorite little spots was Stephen Ave, an outdoor pedestrian mall filled with street art, tasty restaurants and plenty of shopping options. We grabbed lunch at Local (you have to try the Press Burger!) before heading over to the Peace Bridge and catching our train to my first Aerial Yoga class hosted at InFlight Fitness. It was a beautiful day in a wonderful city. I took plenty of photos to share, I hope you enjoy them!
